Pakistan Flour Mills Association

Is a registered and dully recognized representative Trade Body of Flour Milling Industry having 915 flour mills member from all over the Pakistan. This Association was primarily constituted in 1949 under the name of Punjab Flour Mills Association . During the last 60 years, there has been tremendous increase in the milling capacity in Pakistan. Starting with 19 flour mills. Now 915 flour mills (Registered with the Association) working in Pakistan with the daily milling capacity of 77275 M. Tonnes daily.

With the passage of time, the Association has grown up to the most dignified posture and domination structure as the function of the Association was broad-based on all over Pakistan basis in 1960.

Consequent upon dismemberment of one unit into original and existing four Provinces in 1970 it was again re organized and re-oriented. The branch offices of the Association were opened in all four provinces to deal with the provincial governments in Food Department and tackle the problems and difficulties of the Flour Mills. The central office of the Association was left to look into the affairs of the Flour Mills and all food matters at national Level.

Association continued to function till 16th July 1976 when this agro based industry was nationalized. The Flour Mills were de-nationalized in September 1977 by the the martial law region.

LEGAL STATUS

Pakistan Flour Mills Association is a legal representative trade body of the Flour Milling Industry having its self-owned Registered Central Office in Lahore. It was previously registered through the chapter of section 26 of the companies act 1913 (VII of 1913) under the Ministry of Commerce License No.59 dated 26-01-1961. After the enforcement of New Trade Organizations Ordinance in June 2007. This Association granted licence No. 111 dated 03-11-208 as existing Trade Organization by the Ministry of Commerce in ordinance with the New Trade organization ordinance 2007. it was incorporated and registered under No 42LR dated 26-01-1961 by the Assistant registrar, joint stock companies Lahore region on 19-09*-1967. This Association is affiliated with the federation of Pakistan chambers of commerce & industry, Karachi
